Ogham is an ancient Irish alphabet first used over 1,600 years ago to carve names and messages into stones; it typically contains 20 characters (letters J, K, V, W, X, and Y are absent). For modern use we apply standard transliterations: J→G, K→Q, V→F, W→UU, X→Z, Y→I. Ogham was written for the early Irish language (Gaelic) and is read bottom-to-top.
For best historical and linguistic accuracy, we use the Irish (Gaelic) form of a name or word first—then we transliterate that into Ogham. Please note - not all English words/names can be translated to Irish. Your Ogham may be transliterated from English, not Irish. Don't worry, it will still look Great!
The sleeve will contain the English and/or the Irish translation of the Ogham on the front of the item.
